Hi! I’m Reid,

I had been fortunate enough to be a part of the Option II program offered at Randolph High School. This allowed me to prepare for my future by guiding my learning around what field of work I would like to go into. Over the course of the 2020 to 2021 school year I had been working on an archiving project which has allowed me to make a database of former Randolph High School students and staffs time here.

As a society we had lost a great deal of history due to the lives lost to Covid-19. It has been more important than ever before to have a documentation of people's experiences and lives in order to preserve history and keep the memories and lessons learned by generations before from being forgotten.

 

As well, I know as a former high school student that going into the unknown is horrifying. Even though I had an older sister who had gone through the school prior to me, I still knew I was willfully unprepared for what I was about to spend the next four years experiencing. Not only is this database to help keep the memories of prior Randolph High School graduates alive but it also aims to help transitioning freshman and other students feel more prepared for their time here. Though no two people have the same experiences, it is my hope that hearing these stories and lessons will ease some of the pressures for students. High school is not an easy road but it is one that many have traveled along before and one that will continued to be traveled along.

I hope this database is able to serve as a guide for many generations to come.
